Most exercise bikes are self-driven and do not need mains power to operate (source: [BikeHike](https://bikehike.org/do-exercise-bikes-need-power/), [Cardio Adviser](https://cardioadviser.com/does-exercise-bike-need-power/)). However, some models may require mains power to drive them, especially if multiple people are using the same machine (source: [BikeHike](https://bikehike.org/do-exercise-bikes-need-power/), [Cardio Adviser](https://cardioadviser.com/does-exercise-bike-need-power/)).
Exercise bikes usually won’t require power to operate and would just need the pedaling of those exercising. But there are also exercise bikes available in the market that requires the main power.
A stationary or an exercise bike that does not require the main power would last long for single-person use and used at an average of six hours a day.
